In today’s fast pace world of high speed internet, instant access to anything you want. Sometimes it is something as simple as a thank you that can have an impact on someone’s day. We would like to share with you what happened to us yesterday. So many times we get bombarded with all the things we are not doing as a REALTOR(R) So hopefully this will demonstrate that this is still one of the most rewarding jobs that we have ever had.
A Simple Thank You
The series of events actually happened over the last week and they all culminated today for us. We received a text from one of our vendors saying that they had a friend who needed to rent out their property in Largo. Now normally this is just a little too far for us to go, but it was a referral and we encourage and are extremely grateful when we receive one. So we set the appointment up for Wednesday. When Nick went over and met with the owner, he had to evict the last tenants who were living there and it was a pretty bad situation. The tenants did a lot of damage in 12 months.
We discussed the procedures on how we screen and went through the whole process from start to finish. When Nick was leaving, the owner says to him. You do not know how much we appreciate you coming over this far from where you normally work to assist me. Nick was at a loss for words. And if you know Nick he never is at a loss for words. Then he says I really need to thank (Blank), who recommended you guys to me. Then to top it off, while driving back to Tampa the owner sent a text to us and the person who referred us to him and it came in on 4 text messages in a row it was so large of a text.
We are working with a couple from out of the area, who have been looking and looking and just have not found a house yet. Last Wednesday they inquired on one of our listings through a Real Estate Website. We called as a follow to explain that they home was under contract already and the web site just hadn’t caught up with MLS. So we were talking and we set up a search for them. Initially they said that there were four homes that they would like to see. Based on their schedule they could come up here on Friday. So on Thursday we scheduled all showings for Friday.
Now they had to drive about 2 1/2 hours to get to Tampa. About an hour before we were meeting we get the first call from one of the listing agents to inform us that the seller accepted an offer and the home was no longer available. Now for a little humor; about 10 minutes before Nick was going to drive to the first house. Our son Nicholas (Nick) gets a text message from one of the showing services. And says “Dad are you showing this house at 330pm?” I said yes I am and then he says Showing cancelled home no longer available. Now We are down to two homes and the showing service contacting our son for our showings… Made us laugh just a little.
On our way, yes you guessed it, the third call, home under contract. Needless to say we meet at the one home, Nick feels bad, we walked in and the house was a mess and they said “No Way to this one.” We spent time in front of the house, discussing what they wanted to purchase, etc. Then they drove back 2 1/2 hours. We emailed more homes and were scheduled to see two homes on Wednesday, because of the homes they picked out 1 was under contract already, 1 had a settlement issue, 1 was withdrawn from the market and there was only 1 to see.
So on Tuesday we spoke and offered to schedule a preview and go take a video of the home, because we did not want them to drive a total of 5 hours to see 1 house. So off we went and did our best Vanna White narrating through the house for them and then uploaded to YouTube and emailed them the link to watch. After they received the email they immediately called to say thank you, oh my gosh, you have done so much for us,we cannot believe it. After you help us purchase our new home, we will have to have you guys over for dinner just to say thank you again.
So yesterday afternoon, we were in the office and all of sudden the office administrator says you have someone here to see you. And you probably can guess. Yes the client who we helped is standing there and hands us an envelop with a thank you card and token of their appreciation for how we helped them out of what could have been a terrible situation for them.
Yes all this culminated in the same day. And that is why Cindy and I just want to say thank you to everyone who may not know that they made our day such an amazing day today. In closing we have to say that we are always here ready to assist you with all of your real estate needs in the Tampa Bay and surrounding areas.
