Tricks to help destress…Yes please! We all have bills, schedules, endless to-do lists, and about a million other things to do and worry about. Some days the stress is a good thing; you get a list going and you start checking things off and feel a sense of accomplishment. Then there are other days, where you had a list, but the things came flying in from left field and now your day is doing a downward spiral.
Destress with 5 Simple Steps
Welcome to most real estate days. Home buying, selling, or investing is a huge emotional process. Sure there is a bunch of paperwork involved, but ultimately it is emotional. So add into your normal life stress all of the additional stress of addendums, disclosures, home inspections, and contracts. Sounds like a great science experiment right? Sometimes it all can just get a little overwhelming.
Alas, we are forced to deal. The couch must wait and sorry but there is no room for you under that rock. To tide you over here are some helpful tips to destress you and get you home in one piece.
Some mid-day destress yoga. Here are some poses with instructions and explanations on how they help to destress.
Breathe. Get up from your desk or get away from wherever you are and just go take a few good deep breaths. Just do it. Sometimes all you need is just an extra couple of seconds of deep breathing to calm you down.
Another great tip is talk it out. So grab your coworker, best friend, partner, parent, animal, or random person and talk it out. This can be the most therapeutic way to deal with stress because you are giving yourself a chance to acknowledge exactly what is stressing you out. Maybe then you can find a way to deal with it.
Listening to your favorite music can also be a way to distance yourself and gain some perspective. Take a little mental break back to a place or time when you weren’t as stressed as you are in that moment.
Finally, my favorite way to deal with stress is to just laugh it out. So get to Google-ing and find yourself some funny pictures, memes, videos, or a story to help you laugh it out. Here are some images to get you started
