Before you go on a shopping spree for child-proofing gear, consider using a a couple of these inexpensive tricks.
4 Child-proofing Hacks for Your Home
1. Tennis balls
With a bit of surgery, they can fit snugly onto the table corners that always seem to find kids’ foreheads. (This hack might not work for those who have a Golden Retriever.)
2. Yardsticks
Slide an old school yardstick down through all the handles of your dresser drawers in order to avoid an explosion of laundry in your room.
3. Scrunchies and cookie cutters
Dig through your cookie cutters and you are likely to find one that can be secured around two cabinet knobs to help keep little ones out of the cupboards. Hair scrunchies can also work effectively.
4. Pool noodles
Protect tiny fingers from slamming doors! Cut a 6-inch section, slice it lengthwise and slide it onto the upper part of your door for an inexpensive door stopper.
